I am very glad I went to the Poetry Slam last night. It was sooo good! I’ve never been to one before and I was thoroughly impressed by the talent in the room.
Hopefully The Bushnell can host this again next year

The room was packed, the talent was hot and the Bushnell should be applauded for providing the opportunity to make this happen. Looking around the audience - there were all shapes and sizes and color and age and lifestyle. How excellent for a Wednesday night in Hartford!

I thought the slam was extremely well orchestrated, a great space for the event at the Bushnell, a great event for Hartford and a great support for emerging voices. THANK YOU

The thrill I had Wednesday evening at the Northeast Poetry Slam is still with me today... three days later. It exceeded all my expectations, actually! The atmosphere was alive with good energy, and enthusiasm. I would support something like this on a monthly basis!! A huge thank you to the Bushnell for opening their doors and letting a different 'voice' and some very, very talented people speak! Keep it moving forward and I will do my part to pass the word!
Peace to all!

The slam was great! Lots of talent, high energy, and thought provoking. Thanks to those who organized the event, and special thanks to the Bushnell for hosting. Here's hoping we'll have more slams and other programs like this at the Bushnell.

I took the Classical Magnet Poetry Slam team for their first professional slam experience the other night! I am so glad that they were able to attend the Poetry Out Loud series at the Bushnell. The team loved it really enjoyed the incredible glass sculpture in the middle of the room.
As an educator, I am so proud of the Bushnell and all that it does to bring the arts to students.

I was very pleased that Athena Mercy placed in the top 3. :-D Having shared the same stage with her, I know first hand just how talented she is. The other poets who performed were very talented as well and I am ever so greatful to have witnessed such greatness All in the Same Room. I would really like a copy of the event (either audio or video).
