It's been a busy week at The Bushnell. The Phantom of the Opera has been loading in, and it's quite an enormous project. Just the fact that 20 48-foot semi trucks are needed to transport the show should give you a hint that this is a HUGE production! The iconic chandelier alone weighs 1000 pounds (and is adorned with 35,000 beads!). Other items needing transportation: 230 costumes, 479 lighting instruments, 2.5 tons of steel reinforcements used to support the weight of the set pieces, 24 large pieces of scenery, 165 wigs and much, much more.
The show, which is the longest-running on Broadway, is coming to The Bushnell April 22-May 10. Are you coming? Let us know what you think in comments.

There are twelve of us attending the evening of May 9th and one is a twelve year old student from my bus route. I have seen it three times before this at other venue and it has always been fantastic. This is our first trip to the Bushnell and so looking forward to it. Long live the PHANTOM!! Bravo!!

A spectacle. A wonderful evening (or afternoon!) of theatre. The entire production was extremely professional, executed by obvious seasoned professionals both onstage and behind the scenes. The voices - fantastic. The scene changes - smooth, quick, and visually memorizing. The effects - surprising and magical.
This was my first outing to see the Phantom, and I loved it!

I have been dying to see this it was announced when I was a little girl. Today May 2nd, my hubby is making a dream come true and we are going to the 2pm show. I can't wait. I love the music and can't wait to see the production in it's entirety. Thank you for bringing it to the Bushnell.

Just make sure the usher seats you correctly. Since we werent familiar with the seating, we got seated in the balcony instead of the mezzanine and didnt realize it until I relooked at the seating chart the following day. Knew something must have been wrong since I never would have bought seats so high up. I paid for $55 seats and got seated in $28 seats. Probably would have enjoyed it if we could have seen it!!
