Hear the Angelic Voices of Libera at The Bushnell

Tickets on sale today for UK Boys Choir concert

Hartford, CT – March 14, 2008 – You’ve seen them on PBS, now come see the cherubic boys choir from South London, Libera, on their first concert tour in the US.  Libera will be performing in The Bushnell’s Belding Theater for one night only on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.  Don’t miss this awe-inspiring performance.

Tickets for Libera are on sale March 14, 2008 and can be purchased by visiting The Bushnell Box Office at 166 Capitol Avenue in Hartford or by calling (860) 987-5900.  Tickets may also be purchased online at www.bushnell.org.  Groups of 20 or more should call (860) 987-5959.  Tickets prices are $32-$38. 

The concert will feature many of the songs from the PBS TV special as well as new ones, including ‘Love and Mercy’, the Brian Wilson song which the boys sang in his honor at the recent Kennedy Center Honors concert in Washington.  The atmospheric show will feature 20 of the boys in their trademark white robes performing familiar melodies alongside new compositions – and all characterized by the boys rich harmonies and exciting vocal range.  Libera has performed with the likes of Pavarotti, Elton John, and Bjork and has been featured on such movie soundtracks as Merchant of Venice, Hannibal, and Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet.  The singers of Libera are aged six to sixteen – coming from various schools around South London and varying backgrounds.  To find out more about Libera, watch videos, and listen to tracks off of their new CD “New Dawn” visit www.libera.org.uk.
