Farmington Valley Chorale presents a celebratory program: Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy with orchestra and works by Runestad, Britt and Voth.
Farmington Valley Chorale is pleased to present a celebratory program with newer works by composers Jake Runestad, Colin Britt and the premiere of a very special commissioned piece by Chorale’s own Artistic Director Ellen Gilson Voth, culminating in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy for chorus, featuring pianist Anchie Donn and professional orchestra.
The program’s subject matter speaks powerfully both to the impact of the pandemic on the choral world, and how artists, like Beethoven himself, have continuously reckoned with hardship and challenge, and risen above it to produce some of the world’s greatest music.
Farmington Valley Chorale is an all-volunteer chorus of singers from the Farmington Valley and beyond, committed to classical choral performance of music from the Baroque to the present. Ordinary people who come together to accomplish the extraordinary through the beauty and power of choral music.
Artistic Director Ellen Gilson Voth will conduct this inspiring and joyful event.
