Ring in spring with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra!
This blissful concert features HSO Concertmaster Leonid Sigal, the Hartford Chorale, and guest conductor Jacomo Bairos and celebrates beauty, hope, and growth. William Grant Still’s moving piece Spirituals: A Medley brings you a sense of renewal that carries throughout the program. Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole was an inspiration for Tchaikovsky to compose his famous violin concerto, and he enthusiastically described the piece as having “a lot of freshness, lightness of piquant rhythms, of beauty and excellently harmonized melodies”. Vivaldi’s Gloria is one of sacred music’s most uplifting choral works and its radiance and poignant sound will ring throughout the concert hall.
