INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES IN THE ARTS
Diversity and Inclusion
At The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, we celebrate and foster inclusion through the unique attributes, characteristics, abilities, and perspectives of all individuals. As part of our core mission, we are dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive cultural campus that reflects our commitment to an environment where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and included, onstage and off. This sense of belonging empowers individuals and unites communities by creating mutual respect and appreciation.
This is a unique experience to apply collegiate studies while gaining professional experience. Volunteer intern opportunities may be available in several departments. Interns are assigned to departments based upon organizational needs and the interest of the intern.
Internships at The Bushnell are designed to offer challenging and educational field experience related to an individual’s particular area of interest in arts and business administration. Special emphasis is placed on offering interns “hands-on” experience which will provide a valuable perspective on the inner workings of a performing arts center in a successful business environment. Every effort is made to design a special project of interest in a broad range of departments, including:
-
Development
-
Education
-
Front of House
-
Human Resources
-
Marketing
-
Programs
-
Facility Sales & Service
Intern assignments depend upon the qualifications and interest of the applicant, as well as the specific needs of each department at The Bushnell. Department heads, managers and/or directors, who are involved in the design of the intern’s project, provide supervision. Internship positions are available to students, as well as other qualified individuals. Internship positions are voluntary (unpaid), with college credit available where applicable. The scheduling of an internship is flexible, making possible part-time and summer positions, in addition to spring and fall semester positions.
