Ways to Give
There are several ways to support The Bushnell today that will support our ongoing programs, while helping you with your taxes in the future.
Transfer appreciated assets
Many donors prefer to make gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or exchange traded funds because it can have a large impact on our mission, while maximizing potential tax benefits by avoiding paying tax on capital gains.
If you would like to transfer your appreciated assets you can:
● Use this online tool to walk you through the process in less than 5 minutes; or
● Access our transfer information and work directly with your broker to transfer your stocks.
Give from your IRA
Donors 70.5 or older with a traditional IRA are eligible to make tax-free contributions from their IRAs, regardless of whether or not they itemize on their tax return. These gifts are called Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs). QCDs can also count toward Required Minimum Distributions (RMD), if you must take one.
Use this online tool today to give online, or print the forms necessary to complete your gift offline.
If you have any additional questions about these methods of giving, please contact Ellen Nattila at enattila@bushnell.org or 860.987.6071 today.
