Kids for President

(Grades 2-6) The Bushnell Education department will host a mock election onsite at the performance - all student audience members may participate!

Timed to coincide with children’s election year curiosity and excitement, “Kids for President” is a show written by youngsters and performed by professional actors! To involve children in the forthcoming election, stories poems, songs, campaign speeches, and essays, were submitted by kids from across the country. The show was then comprised of several short plays and songs, adapted from the very best of the received materials.

Overall, this unique performance gives voice to children’s feelings about the challenges that America and our next president will face. Combining whimsy and political thought, and addressing both the silly and the serious, children and adults alike, will be sufficiently entertained by the music, colorful costumes, and impressive back drops that are also inspired by the artwork of youngsters.
