CONFIDENTIAL ORGANIZATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
> Lamont Announcement On Move to Phase III
- Governor Lamont recently announced that Connecticut will move to Phase 3 on October 8.
- In the coming weeks, David and the Management Team will refine what this will mean to us in real terms. We will keep you posted and provide an opportunity for you to speak with David very soon, and as we gain more clarity in the coming weeks.
- For your reference, The Bushnell’s public statement in response to Governor Lamont’s announcement about the move to Phase 3 is below. This has been shared with the press as well as our fellow CT PACs that are partnering in our efforts to seek COVID relief funding from the State.
-
We are encouraged by the Governor’s announcement regarding an increase in capacity levels for Performing Arts Centers like The Bushnell. We have already begun planning and anticipate reopening to some degree with events and programming that are suited to smaller audiences/guest counts with social distancing measures in place later this fall while we continue to wait for Broadway’s return to the road. We are taking a considered, cautious and measured approach to this reopening and do not anticipate reaching the 50% capacity levels indicated by the Phase 3 rules in the near term. We will begin, conservatively, with small private events and will grow those guest counts/audiences (within the restrictions of the mandate) over time. Our commitment to the health and safety of our guests, artists, staff, volunteers and patrons remains our number one priority and we are making the necessary signage, traffic flow and other health and safety changes to our building to ensure we are following the most up-to-date CDC, state and local guidelines while also implementing best practices from our industry. We look forward to beginning a safe, phased return to events and live performances at The Bushnell and see this as a good, next step.
